I had a fantastic stay at a cozy lodge surrounded by stunning mountain views. the kitchen was clean and warm, making it a pleasure to prepare my meals. the lady who showed me around was incredibly kind and helpful. the room itself was nice and comfy, and I couldn't get enough of the beautiful view.

For the price I paid, it was an unbeatable experience. Cons: Wish I could have stayed longer!

We had a great experience at Lazy Shag Lodge. It was our first time staying at a hostel, and we felt very welcomed. the room was spacious with a super comfy bed. the bathroom, although basic, had good sizes. We loved the peacefulness of the location, especially with the road closing at night. the staff were friendly and the price was great. it was a lovely and quiet stay, with no road noise to disturb us. Everything we needed was provided, including all bedding. Cons: Cannot find any faults. 👍.

We stayed at The Lazy Shag Lodge for a weekend getaway. The location and overall atmosphere were great, and our room was spacious and clean. The staff was excellent, helpful, and friendly. The property had a nice rural outlook with hens running around, which was a unique and enjoyable touch. There was also an excellent cafe next door open for breakfast at 7am, and plenty of other cafes, restaurants, and bars within easy walking distance. It was great value for the low price and highly recommended.

Weak and lukewarm shower.

The Lazy Shag Lodge provided a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The communal kitchen and outdoor eating area were fantastic, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Despite some minor issues like unreliable WiFi and small bathrooms, the overall experience was great. We especially loved Wallace the dog. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay.

The room and kitchen were clean, which was a big plus. the location was also great, just a short walk to the city center and with a supermarket nearby. the manager was very friendly and welcoming, making our stay even better.

The room had everything I needed, although there was no bedside table, which was a minor inconvenience. The bed was very comfortable and the common rooms looked nice. a great stay and I would definitely stay here again.

our recent stay in kaikoura was amazing! lazy shag lodge exceeded expectations with its cozy fireplace, private bathroom, and lovely patio. the staff was super friendly and we loved the covered tables outside the kitchen for al fresco dining.
